The Moose Preserve fits like a pair of well-worn work gloves. Since 1990, anyone entering The Moose has grabbed the antler door handles on the massive front doors, walked into the restaurant and come face-to-snout with Jackson. Once inside, you'll enjoy the inviting atmosphere and you'll notice the stone walls, the rustic handmade furniture, the two sit-down bars and, of course, The Dog Wall.back to the top

The Dog Wall is a collection of over 1,000 pictures of our customers' dogs, that we frame and put on our walls. Being dog people, we know the special bond that people have with man's best friend, and can't think of anything more fun than perusing hundreds of pictures as lovable, interesting and unique as every dog truly is. Each dog is also entered in our Mutt of The Month Contest, where one dog is recognized every month in a place of honor. The Moose Preserve Mutt of The Month winner gets a doggie bag filled with presents truly fit for a dog. Ask your server for an entry form.back to the top

Jackson, who greets everyone who crosses The Moose threshold, is from Yellowstone National Park, where he passed away peacefully of old age. Jackson is probably the most photographed and most famous Moose in Michigan. On your way out, make sure you rub his nose for good luck.back to the top

Michigan weather permitting, you can enjoy your food and drinks on our beautiful outdoor patio. It is magnificently designed, with Ohio bluestone floors on the lower terrace, built around a towering and shady sugar maple tree. The upper deck is covered and heated, allowing the best of both worlds ... a nice pleasant outdoor experience, but not one diminished by the elements.back to the top

In addition to eating, drinking and simply hanging out, you can enjoy a game on our giant-screen televisions and 8 other TV's strategically located for optimal viewing. We also have Golden Tee, and the latest in bar trivia counter top games. So, whatever your pleasure, you should be able to find it within The Moose Preserve.back to the top

The Moose Preserve building is quite old. No one seems to know how old. In it's previous incarnations it has been a Howard Johnson's, a restaurant named Bedell's for a long period of time, then in rapid succession it was named Bloomfields and then Archers and then Bloomfields again. When we bought the property in 1990, it was a closed-down, boarded-up building. We renovated it and opened as The Moose Preserve Bar & Grill in September 1990, and haven't looked back (defying the "experts" who said the location was terrible and that we were doomed to failure!).back to the top
